I am looking to buy a new quad in a few months from now and I was wondering what one to get it's either going to be a Blaster or a 300EX. But the 300 EX is a 4-Stroke and the Blaster is a 2-Stroke. How often do you guys have to work on your blasters, pistons, rings, sleeves etc. 300EX also has reverse and electric start.

I have a 97 blaster wit DG pipe and silencer,K&N,Bored 20 over, intake and exhaust ported, Boyessen Carbonfiberreeds,Bandits all around with ITP rims. I can beat my friends 300ex which has a supertrap ehhaust pipe,And My other friends Blaster With FMF gold seiries pipe and silencer Boyesen Reeds, Bored 20 over. The only time A two stroke Rings Blow is when u hold it wide open in sith gear for too long

if you want to spend the money, get the 300EX.

the 300EX already handles great! The blaster would need a lot to make the handling like a 300EX.

Motor wise..2 stroke 4 stroke..apples and oranges really.

a 2 stroke is always going to be faster. The 4 will always have more lowend grunt.

It's your call

Get the blaster, elecric starting is necceary and the reverse isnt that nessecary with a quad that weighs 320 the reverse doesnt even have that much power so its only if your backin up on flat ground for the most part. I pretty much blow away my friends 250x(basically the same thing) but the hanlding is nicer on his quad but i like 2-strokes better anyday

The only plus side to the blaster would be the 2 stroke 250.Other than that the 300ex is the machine to get electric start, reverse, great handling, honda relyabilty and the biggest plus of them all,BRAKES!!!!By the time you sink 500 600 bucks into getting the brakes to semi work good you could of had the 300ex already.Take it from me my first quad was a blaster and i spent 400 bucks on the trenga rear hydrolic brake kit and they still sucked beyond beleif.I guess after all of these years Yamaha still does not take safty that seriosly. Ride on

If you have the money to buy a 300ex I would suggest a warrior or bansee if you like the 2 stroke. Or you could always buy two blasters for around the price of one 300ex.
