After careful consideration and much thought, I have come to the conclusion your safest bet is to simply NOT get caught. UnWSpLaT is right, you can get away but the next couple time you go riding you'll be looking over your shoulder. I've been in some situations where it looked like i wasn't getting outta. What are the odds of meeting a trooper going down a dead end road, turning around to get back on the trail, and meeting another???? Didn't even have to go far, only bout a half mile to get to the other trail system.

 

LOL bone stock, around here there are no cops on quads but we do have to watch out for some game wardens and stuff cause sometimes we ride on no tresspassing land owned by a power plant and wildlife lake hehehe [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img], and rarely are cops a prob, unless someone has complained or a cop dont like u on the road then ur fine, i even ride on the highway sometimes.... shouldnt tho, i dobt a state trooper would like that haha [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

Hey man just because your town doesn't let you ride ATV's anywhere doesn't mean u
shouldn't get a quad. I remember when I was 10 I wanted a quad so I worked hard and
saved enough money to buy one. I only had it a few months and than they closed down all
the trails I rode for horse riders. It sucked really bad, but my dad felt bad for me so he took me
out every once and while. My dad was never into ATV's but after awhile he couldn't just watch
me ride so he bought one too, and now we go to the Dunes on the weekends. I am sure you
can find somewhere else to ride so don't give up your dream of getting a quad!

 

around here where i live cops dont usually bother us but the other day we had just came outta some sand pitts we werent supposed to be in and a cop passed us and pulled a Uey and turned his lights on so im like "O ****" and i take off and hit a field and get in some trails and they never caught me, but other than that nuthin happens

 

Yeah your not allowed to ride anywhere in my town exept for the track... but we do anyway. I was out the other day riding my quad on the road (like 2-3 km away from the nearest trail) and I was showing it to my friend cause he haden't seen it. He was on his pedal bike. He was suppose to meet me at a spot that was only like 1km from the trail but when I got there he wasn't there and I didn't feel like waiting around for the cops to come so I rode a couple more kms to his house and he was just getting out of his driveway(Lazy b@s@rd!) so he held on to the fender and I towed him lol. Well we were just kinda hanging around and driving on the road for a bit when my friend said "I wanna see you go rip up that feild a bit". So I went in there and then the guy that owns the feild came out and told us to go away. We were heading up to the trail and I asked my friend if he wanted me to double him to my house. When we were just about at the trail he said that there was someone following us in a van. He must have been looking for us because it was a dead end road (with a trail at the end) and we looked behind us before and he wasn't there. So I pinned it and he was keeping up with us untill we got to the trail.
So I figure that he had a cell phone and he phoned the cops and the cops told him to follow us untill they got there. It was kinda scary cause its my new quad and I didn't want them to take it.

Well sorry I wrote so much... kinda got carried away. I hope it made sense lol

 

i was in the same boat as all of you, local cops came up my private rd. when i was on my dirt bike,(check pics, and description) they told me that atvs they will chase but it is too dangerous for they because the bikes are too fast, and they dont want to endanger anyone else. anyways. 1 cop did get b@llzy enough to chase me on my own private rd, that we pay for to maintain, landscape, pave, and plow in the winter.[ i did stop and he told me that i wasnt allowed to ride here, i said oh yea who pays for it i sure as heck know you dont, and i took off i see this little white patroll unit in the back, thing was another cop from the same town came up here, and said sorry if that guy harrassed you(rookie) he was trying to make a name for himself, hehe i can think of a few.

i live in orange county ny. the next town over from me is warwick. they passed a law that it is illegal to operate a off highway vehical on anything other than your own property..... pretty crappy in my eyes.
i live in the town of florida and we get bothere once in a while here mostly by the troopers. florida pd dosnt seem to mind esp not on the snowmobiles. considering are chiefe of police was an avid off roader himself .....
i had a trooper confiscate my atc 350x once while i was riding on private property. wrote me 4 tickets too everything got dropped and i got my trike back without paying impound or storage fees.......
teh troopers just got a pair of 6x6 polaris's i guess they thought they would be able to keep up........ they were mistaken. my nephew (he's 13) constantly "eludes" them on his 250X

 

i was wrong they dont confinscatre ur quads for the police they auction em off



i think im gunna stop posting unless i figure out a way i can have a quad, i might come back and read now and then
