October 2000 Dirtwheels lists the Raptor at 72 mph, the Banshee at 70-71 mph. I think that about answers it.

October 2000 Dirtwheels runs the Raptor head to head with the Banshee. They say the Raptor goes 72 mph, the Banshee goes 70-71 mph. The Raptor had the 20" tires while the Banshee had the Dunlop ballons on it.

Hey guys...
Not saying I believe blasterboy, But I was at the Ducks Unlimited Great Outdoors Fest this last weekend. I actually got to touch, look at sit on a raptor. It was awesome looking machine. They also had a cut-away on display. It was neat...

I ran a simulation of the Raptor gearing posted at http://www.extremebuggies.com/pitlan...etail.asp?ID=3 and came up with the following:

1st gear: 34 mph @ 9000 RPM
2nd gear: 54 mph @ 9000 RPM
3rd gear: 67 mph @ 9000 RPM
4th gear: 72 mph @ 8150 RPM
79 mph @ 9000 RPM
5th gear: 81 mph @ 8000 RPM
86 mph @ 8500 RPM
91 mph @ 9000 RPM

I assume the gearing listed on that page is correct?

Scooby, are you saying that the calculations show that the Raptor will only pull 8150 and 8000 RPM in 4th and 5th gear respectively? Either way that's pretty fast.

WyoRider, I don't have the Raptor Torque or HP curve to determine if the Raptor can pull 9000 RPM in 4th and 5th gears. I listed the 72mph mark because someone said the Raptor tops out at 72mph. I listed the 81mph and 86mph marks to show a more realistic speed IF the Raptor cannot pull 9000 RPM in 5th gear. I don't know what the Raptor can pull. The gear ratios I used may or may not be correct, may or may not be the gear ratios as tested by the magazines, and may or may not be the final gear ratios for production units.
