Default Burning oil?

Hi all,
You guys seem to help me a ton! I have yet another newbie question. I have the new raptors and whenever I open them up at top end they start to smoke a little. If I rev them high they start to smoke. I have about 8-10 hours on them. Is this normal? I need to know because if not I have to take them to the dealer and they are booked way out. Thanks a ton!

Default Burning oil?

It's either running rich or burning oil. Check your spark plug, if it's black your too rich, tan perfect, and white lean. Have you tried checking the oil before and after every ride? Start doing that and see if it's going down. If it is than you deffinatly have an oil burning problem and I'd take it to the dealership for warranty work. Do you have any mods on your bike? Have you adjusted the jetting ever?

Don't get to stressed out, either of these problems wont hurt anything in the short run as long as you have oil in your engine

Good luck!

Default Burning oil?

I havent tried anything yet as far as mods, but i checked the plug and it is black on it. If this is the case how to I adjust it to run leaner? I did notice gas smell when I start it. Also It smokes when It starts cold to. Thanks for the quick replies.
