Even if it starts up fine it could still be fried rings. That is probley your problem...

How could the rings be gone already? he has only had it 5 months... That does'nt make any sense that the rings would be so worn at this point, unless there was a defect of some kind. Although i'm not sure what that would be.

How many hours do you have on it? Compression check?

i am going to my dealer today... i tend to ride up near the rev limiter ALOT... so rings wouldnt surprise me... but i was told by a few guys who run dirtbikes that vavles will do the same thing... who knows...

ok, ive checked my valves... intake needs to be between .004 - .006
i can just barely fit a .004 in them... and the exhuast needs to be .008 - .010 i can just barely fit an .008 in them.
the gauges slide in very tight and it take some wiggling on a few on them... but IMO this isnt off enough to make to much of a difference.
any input?


and if anyone knows how much compression these things are supose to have could you let me know, thanks.

Well because of the decompression pin you still should build up to 120psi to 140psi if you have more than that its not the rings.
