I am debating on what to get a raptor or a z. I know that the raptor has more power. But that doesnt realy matter to me. I want to know which one is better on trails and which one is more reliablr. Thanx [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-cool.gif[/img]

 

Sounds like your leaning toward the Z, as was I when I was debating the same thing. I had decided to get the Z over the Raptor when I found a new 04 LE Rap for the same price as the Z ($5,199) So I went with the Raptor. I am so glad I did. The power and performance is great. I have ridden a Z, and I am glad I got the Raptor.

The Z is a good quad.

The Raptor seems to be a Love it Hate it quad. Pick your side.

Reliability has as much to do with the rider as the manufacturer you got to maintain it if you get the Z or the Raptor either way.

Also don't forget the YFZ450.

 

I would go with the z,because of the better handling and suspension.

 

Id go with the Z but that prolly cause im on the Hate it side of the raptor

 

Most bang for the buck... No brainer...get a Raptor!!!! There the same price or you may find a Raptor for less than a Z.

 

i love my raptor...but for the money i would grab an 05 Z. They are making the carb bigger, changing the cam, and putting piggyback front shocks, and keeping the same MSRP. It already handles better than a rap, now it will be just as fast too.....but not as fast as a YFZ which will be in my garage in about a month

 

I'm in the same boat as racer 154. Ahh what to buy next.Great problem to have. I have a 03 z and its a great quad for the money.My son will get that. so i'm shopping around too.I don't want 2 z's. The yfz sounds great but I sat on one and I felt cramped like a jockey on a horse. Felt like a 2-3 hr ride could get uncomfortable-Just my own opinion.Also no reverse but wtf.

 

I've had both. Get the Z. They handle MUCH better, and you'll be alot happier if handling and plush suspension is what your looking for....

 

I'd also go with the Z for the type of riding you wish to do. The Raptor is an awesome bike but far from agile in the trails.

 

I like both quads but I would have to go with the Z. Only because of handling and weight;A Raptor is a little more to muscle around....
