I am planning a trip to silver lakes,Mi.But I am running stock tires on a grizzly will affect perfomance or will it be ok.will i have to worry about traction since i have 4x4..will it be as much fun as the other sports quads.

I would bring some paddles just in case...never rode a 4x4 in the sand so not sure if it'll dig in like a 2wd but I'd hate to get there and not be able to enjoy it.

i just dont want to go there and spend more time diggin out than riding....will sand get into the bearings and grind them down...just things i lke to know b4 going.it is kinda too late to buy paddles..that would look weird on a 660griz...what stunts can you do with a griz besides some real cool powerslides...

I was just at Silver Lake with my 04 yfz and it was a blast. There was about every type of quad out there, especially on the weekends. Also, if you see several quads/bikes heading in one direction, go that way. There's probably a race around the corner or a jump show. Quads would line up 2, 5, 10 or whatever, do the sand drag and then more would line up. I watched it for about an hour..pretty cool.

I would definitely go with a least a couple of paddles. There's a store up there right next to the dunes that stocks them, though I'm not sure if they will have your size. And if ya can't get the paddles, you'll still do okay...just keep that tire pressure down to around 4lbs.

Have fun, I was there for a week and about cried when I had to come home.
