What are some of the advantages you have seen with wider a-arms or axles?

Have you raced a quad with wider or one without and noticed a big difference if so whats the difference?

What would be the best brand name or type of a-arms or alse to buy for a banshee?

A possible price that would take for +2 axle and a-arms on a 04 banshee would be nice to know also.

All replies will be appreciated.

WIDER

More stability. Great for MX and dunes, not good for woods.

Well, I disagree with the bad for woods comment...I have been riding my banshee in the woods from day one...anyway back to your post....

I chose to go with lonestar arms, swing and axel carrier...and the moment I have an eliminator axle.

The arms are going to run you about $700 when all is said and done. The axle is around $500 with hubs. The swing arm is around $500 and I believe the carrier was extra.. Suspension can be upwards near $1000 or more by itself depending on which you choose.

You can see the front of the banshee in my pics I think. The bike is more stable when jumping and turning. The new suspension and arms gave me a bit more ground clearance and great handling.

My recommendation is +2+1 arms, -1 swing, I chose works triple rates with res for the front and ultracross for the rear. The best axle you can afford.

Remember that these prices are from my memory and a few years ago...things may have changed by now.

Thats funny, I had mine widened and now I have narrowed because it tore up my arms from all the fight I had with the steering so now my arms feel much better and for tippiness, I just had to get used to my bike the first 3 months of owning a Raptor and it went away. Less stress on the arms and all I did was lower the rear shock and it leveled it out.

I have spacers on the back and noticed a big difference when taking corners. I took off the front spacer because they did not help with turning and actually gave me more grief than good. I have a arms and shocks in the front now and my turning it much better. I am ordering a lonestar stem and steering stabilizer to take the shock of suspension and I will let you know how that goes.

Thanks for the replies.

Also if i get new arms and axle do i have to buy new shocks for them or will the stock shocks do?

If the stock shocks will do what will the difference be with new and old shocks? If i bought shocks what would be the best kind to get and maybe take a gander at what it might cost me...

If you get extended arms...the stock shocks will bolt up...but the angle will be off causing the front of the quad to sag a bit. Possibly even binding the suspension.
