Default Removing the spark arrester.

I know you can clean out the arrester on a raptor, but what would the affect be if you didn't put it back in? More power, louder, not good?

Mike.

It would make it louder and give it a little more power(probably not noticeable)

Wouldnt hurt the machine but ouwld just be illegal in some states

When I was running my stock muffler, I took it out mainly for sound.
It gives it a little more aggresive sound, though the power is not noticable. It doesn't hurt anything. ( I ran mine for 6 months before buying my Yoshi )

I took mine out 2 days after purchasing my 04 raptor. I believe it gave my machine a little more power and sounds better. I drag raced my buddies 04 raptor aginst mine when it was stock. The only thing he had done was removed the spark arrestor. He smoked me ten times in a row in a drag race. So we switched bikes. I smoked him with his own bike against my stock raptor. I believe it does give it more power. Because he was beating me by six bike lengths.
I have put 25 hours on my bike without it and no problems. I just have to be realy be careful at the car wash, not to spray water into the exhaust
