The 87-95 GT's Had a top of 225 HP at the flywheel with the 5.0 L 302. Thats about 180-190 to the wheels. A stock Gt would be lucky to run a high 14. In 96 they upgraded to the 4.6l DOHC V8 that put out 260 HP to the Flywheel, These were a mid fourteen second car. The New Cobra's (03-04) run 390 HP at the Flywheel and 364 to the wheels. They are easily capible of low 13's and with traction should hit High 12's.

 

actually in 96 they dumped the 5.0 and got the 4.6 v8 up through 98 which had 225hp and in the 99+years the PI(polished) heads were added bumping it up to 260hp. The cobra got a s/c in 03 which has 390hp but before that I think they were rated at 320. As for my friends car running 15's im sure he has traction problems off the line and the elevation we race doesnt help either. I got my 13.7 sec run in Phoenix AZ at the Firebird internation raceway.
