Hey guys let me get your opinion on some things I am planning to do to my Warrior. Okay first of all I already have a White Brothers E-Series exhaust on it. Now I am planning on installing a K&N Power Jet Kit, 14 tooth front sprocket, Bandit rear 20x10x9's and Works Dual Rate shocks. Do these sound like pretty good modifications? Should I go with the 20x10x9 tires or go with 22x10x9? Any info would be great.

I would suggest having your rear axle bearing carrier drilled and tapped, and a grease zerk installed. They are notorious for seizing up due to water getting trapped in them.

O.K. you asked for it. (I mean that in a good way) I'd save those dollars on the Warrior mod's and spend them on a Honda 400EX or if you have the bucks go for the new Raptor. You can mod a Warrior to death and still not come close to a stock 400EX, all you'll do is sacrifice reliability. Don't get me wrong, I love my Warrior but its not in the same ball park as the new sport quads no matter how much you do to it. Keep it stock or trade it off. Just my 2 cents.

First of all I have the 20" bandits and i had a 14 tooth c/s sprocket. The 20" tires make a world of difference and the 14 tooth sprocket evens the gearing out a little more. But, i don't believe you have to mod a warrior to death to match a stock 400Ex. From what i have heard, a pipe, high compression piston, mid-range cam, and new valves will allow you to run your warrior with the 400s. I may be wrong but I am willing to do these mods to my warrior before i buy a 400EX.

Don't waste your time on the Warrior mods. Don't waste your time on a 400EX. Sell the Warrior. Use that money, and the $1500-$2000 you would have dumped into it with the mods and BUY THE RAPTOR!! Only logical choice, man! Been there, done that with my Warrior, and believe me, if I had it to do over again, it would be this way. Take some good advise, and use it to your advantage. Wise men listen and learn!!

Listen people I asked for your opinion about the modifications. I didn't ask you that to get you to tell me to sell my Warrior for a 400EX or a Raptor. I don't have the cash to afford either one. And I like my Warrior better than the 400EX. My neighbor has a 400EX and I think it is a great four wheeler but I would still take my Warrior. And besides that I could pay the extra money for a 400 stroker kit and be able to beat a stock 400EX. And with the price that I paid for my Warrior new plus the 400 stroker kit it would bring my total to $5,300. Which by the way in my area is $700 cheaper with taxes and stuff than a 400EX.

I'd get a .430 web cam, valve spring race kit, 10.25:1 Wiseco piston, Duncan Double Barrel exhaust, pro-flow kit, and a 38 carb. Oh and in a couple weeks I'll tell you how well one runs with all that stuff on it cuz thats what all I'm putting in mine.

Yes you can mod your warrior and may even stay up with a 400EX and save a few bucks at the same time, but you will be pushing the warrior very hard and in the long run it will break down far more than the stock 400EX and that means you'll pay more over the long haul. I'd suggest a spray kit, then you could beat the Raptor for at leaste 10 seconds until the motor blows.

This 400EX stuff is crap. I have a 96 Warrior, pro filter pro flow kit and a white brothers pipe. my 2 best friends both have 2001 stock 400EX's. Sure they will beat me, but not by much. if I put a 15 tooth c/s sproket I'm sure I could chang with them in top speed. I have a 14 on there now with 20 inch Bandits. I would get a racing cam, valve springs..22 inch tires, or 20 inch, and go to a 14 tooth sprocket. Maybe a high compression piston too. That will have you beating 400's. I was also thinkin about new front shox, but I will wait till I break another of mine! hehe
