Default yoshi (kfx) 450 vs. yfz450

our stock bore Z-400 with high comp. piston, fcr40, cams, cdi ran neck and neck with a lrd 440 with all the goodies as well. IMO the cc change does not make that much of a difference.

bigbubba: a couple bike lengths in a hillshoot is a lot. And is definately money worth being spent to me. A win is a win right?

Im not full of my bike or anything. The damn thing isnt even built yet. How it sits right now is its real slow.

I don't think the big bore kits are worth the time, money and loss in reliability. If you go on dogriders site, they have a video in their video cache that has a 470 YFZ racing a 439cc YFZ, both with the same mods and they are neck and neck until 3rd or 4th gear and then the 470 barely pulls away. Not a good investment in my opinion...a few more mods and the 439cc would have tied or beaten the big bore.
Im not trying to be rude. But your an idiot. The dogriders are also a bunch of idiots. If you think that the 470 is not worth the gains then why dont you come race me, schwendi, or thunderalley and watch us blow by you.

The 470 kit is by far one of the best mods for the yfz if you are looking for a lot more power. It is cheap and extremely reliable. I have not heard of one problem with the 470.

Don't be so ignorant...all I said is that "TO ME"<-----, it wasn't worth the money. There are plenty of other mods or combination of mods that will allow you to run close to, or just as fast as a big bore, if not faster. Yeah, it'll make you a little faster than someone with the exact same mods as you...I'll post the HP numbers in a minute to show you.

Figures, I can't find them when I need them...I did talk to a few guys that run big bores though and they say an avg. of 7HP gain with the 470 kit, not a big deal.

It will be close.

The hot gearing for the KFX is one tooth larger{ when heavily modded}. It hits the rev limiter to soon in stock gearing even with increased rev limits. With the larger front sprocket it will still pull hard, but now it will pull long.

Oh, to be close you are still going to need FCR40 or 41.

I've had many built 440's {Z and Kfx} with plenty of p&p,cams, FCR40, 13:1 comp, and of course all the goodies to make it handle. 10cc's if both are well built sleds, will not be night and day diff. Yoshi has a great track record with that motor, but so do many other companies because it responds to mods so well.

I dont understand that last part about the 10cc thing your where talking about. This is going to be a true 450 not a 440 kit. You make it sound like i still wont stand a chance, even after i get the engine back. With the engine they way i had before the cams and no2 i was only about 3-4 quad lengths behing my friends yfz-450 in a 300 fot drag
