Default Is This a Good Idea?

i am boring out my blaster , due to injector failure, i decided that i want to make my 94 blaster more powerful. my plan is to have exhaust and intake ported, get a k&n , reed spacer, trenga's aktive flow reeds(do they mount right on the stock valve?) , i bought some DG pipes for $35.50( which i was just informed of , that they suck ACE!) , jet carb for more gas and air w/ air box lid off.

i want to make the suspension better, some people suggest getting some banshee fronts , and rear(what do you suggest doing cheaply?) but if i do this i will need to widen my quad more, i dont have enuf money for a-arms and a new axle, will 3 inch spacers front and rear do the job? or are wheel spacers just a broken axle waiting to happen.

Any help appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am here, but I cannot help ya, sorry. Haven't fooled with a blaster. But i would say, since your on fixed funds....get the motor straight and use what money you got left over to rebuild your A-arms, bearings, swingarms, linkages and shocks; those will help your ride without a whole lot of cash.

Good Luck

Hi,

I am sure the block off for the injector is first on your list. The engine mods sound good as long as the porting matches your style of riding. Which is? I am not sure about your reeds but most fit on the stock cage. Your pipe cost 35.50? Was that just for the silencer? Even if it sucks it is still better than stock and very cheap.

Blaster suspensions suck, anything you do is an improvement. I don't have any wheel spacers but doubt I would have any problems with them. I only jump it about 6-7 feet high, mainly dune riding.

You might want to save some money for a longer swingarm with those engine mods. It will help keep the front end down. Then make it wider. Ask the person that ports it what pipe to get.

The dg's might not be great, but I guarantee they're better than stock, so for 35 bucks I wouldnt complain. Before you get in too deep with chassis modifications (a-arms, swingarm, etc) or wasting money on new suspension, just save up your money and buy a bike that already is what you want your blaster to be. It might take a while and I'm not saying that modifying the blaster at all would be a total waste, I'm just saying that its usually cheaper in the long run to get a better bike. If I were you I would save up some money, install the pipes, maybe do a couple other cheap modifications and be happy with it until you can afford a banshee, raptor, kfx/ltz/dvx, or 400ex, whichever direction you want to go.
