Blaster or 250ex?

Blaster hands down!
The ex is a fine quad, but just not as much fun as the blaster. It's heavier and has a semi-auto tranny (auto clutch) whereas the Blaster is fully manual. With a pipe, jet and filter on a Blaster you will be beating Warriors and Rap 350's pretty handily.
The Blaster's big plus is that it's sooooo light it can be tossed about very easily. Power per pound is good too. Stock for stock it has a better power/weight ratio than the Warrior. Not sure about the Raptor 350 tho, since it's about 20lbs lighter than the Warrior. Top speed on your blaster with those mods and a slight gearing change should put you over 60mph easily.
And you'll find out very quickly if your injection stops working. If you want to keep using the injector and have a measure of safety, always add a bit of oil mix into your gas tank anyway ... that way if your injection stops, you may be saved a seize up.

Nothing against the blaster or anything,
but Id go with a 250ex...and I did
Its a great quad, especially for a beginner...shaft driven, auto clutch...the thing's a TANK...my girlfriend beats the crap out of it all the time, and that shaft drive will NEVER cost you anything in repairs...the handling is better on a 250ex...Id say its better in every way, except for a drag race...thats just me...whatever you get, have fun

i heard that if you dont keep the rpm's up the plugs will foul after a while.
I am only 12 and i need a bigger quad (so i will probably go with the blaster) and i was reading a magazine and it had 4 quads (blaster mojahve lt250 and 250 ex) and it said that a blaster stock would go 57.3 MPH so with the mods i was sayin i think it would go more like 70 MPH. AND it sayd the blaster is a high maintnence quad but thats not true right?

if you want the fastest quad in your school, dont buy a blaster. if you think you're good enough(youre prolly not since u askin how much it takes to make a blaster go 80.. (no offense)) you should buy a banshee or something bigger. you dont need to have the fastest quad yet, you need to learn how to ride first. i tried riding a raptor on my second time riding a quad, and broke both my arms.
if you really want the fastest quad in your school, and you want it to be a blaster, either put a R6 streetbike engine in it , or sabotage every one at your schools quads. that should do the job

I say you could get a blaster to go 70 for about $1000, which means you have to pay 1000 on top of what you payed for the quad.
if you think youre good enough , start looking for a banshee, 250r ,300ex, or 400ex , they are all pretty fast quads, but you would have to do some stuff to make them all go 70. the only company that makes quads that are fast out of the box is cannondale, but youre looking at $10k for a cannondale.
i think you should get a blaster, put pipes on it, an aftermarket filter(k&n) , flip your rims, and rejet it. youll be suprised how much power you can get with the stock engine.
Im 15 and ive had my blaster since last october, and its been great (except for the injector failing- causing me to have to rebuild completely). I think youll be fine with the blaster, dont try to be faster than you are and get a banshee(unless you like $1500 medical bills........)
Good luck making your decision
