to clean a K&N filter, simple green-castrol super clean- or orange blast works just fine, but I still like to use the K&N filter oil to lube it rather than something else, it is proven to work very well

I just don't think i would use anything else, i bought the cleaner and oil in a kit and have used it 2 times on my durango k&n and it isn't even close to being gone...its not a different kind of cleaner/oil is it?

Is just K&N filter oil available. I've only seen the 12.00 Recharger kit. I can use them up in a hurry, 3 quads and my truck.

Does the k&n oil get tacky at all.

i have a feeling you dont clean your truck filter quite as often as you need to clean a quad filter...
i have been using 409... it works ok i guess... gets the job done, gas is always a sweet way to did it done really quick... and it dries like 1000X faster than water.
but imma try simple green... dunno why i never thought of it... it cleans everything else, why not a filter.
