Default Raptor 660 any good for hare scrambles? or is YFZ better.

I bought a 05 Raptor 660 six weeks ago to do some trail riding and to have fun on. Well now I have decided that I want to start racing in a hare scramble series but I'm not to sure that my bike is the best choice for it. I went to a scramble on 9/5 and I didn't see 1 660, but several YFZ 450's. I have been debating on selling my 660 and getting a YFZ 450 for a couple of weeks now but I'm not sure what to do at this point. I figure if I'm going to sell, I should do it soon as I only have 6 hrs on my bike. Any feedback or suggestions would be of great help, Thanks
