Default Parting out atv's?

For you guys who part your atv's out, do you take a big hit on it in comparison to a complete atv in market value terms or do you actually do better? I was just curious, i see a lot of folks are starting to part their bikes out a bit more than what ive seen before.

You deffinatly make a profit off of it, takes a little more time and effort but worth it.

I've been thinking about this for a couple weeks now, its just interesting to find out. Say if you go by the kelly blue book on pricing, you'd have to wonder if parting out gets anywhere near that. The KBB quotes for bikes are pretty close to what the bikes sell for in my area, so say by going with what the kbb says, would it in fact come near that price if you parted it out?

Yes, I just said you make profit off of it. That means you make more than kelly BB says, thats why people do it.

If you bought every piece to make the quad from scratch at the cost YOU pay for parts you would have 2x the amount in it then you would if you would buy a whole bike off the dealer. People will part out the bike at "used" price and still make more then what they can sell them for...

Yeah Bubba i was just wondering if you meant in ebay general prices or KBB. That would be excellent if it would work out like that, im still looking into it. It seems the motor and frame dont sell for a whole lot on ebay, but I suppose the small parts add up. Still out on this, although I'd like to part one of my raptors out if i could, just wondering what im going to get out of it.
