I was thinking about getting an 05 yfz450 or a 05 660 raptor. i go on fast and slow trails preety much dirt roads fields and wooded trails but i would like the option of going to the track and race every once and a while? i'm not asking which one to get but which one would be suited to my riding style. i also like to ride hard through rough trails?

We have both, and I'd say a Raptor would suit your riding style just perfect.....you can still take it on the tracks if you want, and it's a great trail bike. You won't want to be sitting on the YFZ seat for very long - it's hard as a rock! But it's great for MX racing.....which is what I bought it for! I'd get the 450, it is what I would like to get. I currently own a Raptor and do the same stuff you just said.
You'll appreciate the lower seat height, and reverse isn't that great unless it is modified.

I ride fast trails that are rough. I used to own a raptor and I like the YFZ better in everyway on the trail. It feels like I can go about a gear faster down the trails. Mine pulls hard all the way through the powerband, the faster you go the better the suspension works. I haven't noticed the seat being to hard either.
