Default YFZ 450 Q's

Are there any serious differences between the '04 and '05 YFZ's besides the seat and Decompression plug? I am considering a YFZ, just want to make a good choice. I mainly ride Sand with a few trails thrown in. Do the YFZ's have any common problems mechanically (I know about the Battery and the decompression plug). I hate to admit, but it may be time to go 4-stroke!!!!

I haven't heard of any '05 swingarm cracking or battery problems yet, so thats good. The front suspension are setup a little softer for an easier ride too, deffinatly a nice thing.

If I were shopping for one now, I'd buy a 2004 if it will save some money - no real differences to speak of.....might be worth the savings....if they are about the same, then I'd get the 2005 just because I like the newest stuff!

Hmm...you just said it's not worth it cause they are about the same then you say it's worth it even if they are the same because you like the newer stuff. You countered yourself there a little...

No.....I guess I didn't say it right....if the 2004 models are alot cheaper, I'd buy one of those......if they aren't that much cheaper, and you won't really save much by buying an '04, then I'd just by the 2005 because I like the newest stuff. For instance......if I can save $800 by buying 2004, then I would do it....but if it's only $200 difference in price, then I'd go with the 2005.

Sorry it didn't come out right!

Yeah, I agree with hozed....I'd still go new for the $800 bucks. Have you ever seen anybody ever ride a sport quad???? LOL They're not exactly your "go to church on Sunday machines" If ya go used though, check it out from head to toe. Good luck. I bought a used 04 and it's great. A new 05 would have been about 1500-1700 more.
