Default boring out a blaster

read my post again, your not going to gain power by going 20ths bigger on the stock bore sleeve, your just wasting engine life doing that, boring the cylinder is to put it back into specs, you only go what is needed to clean up the cylinder for the new rings and piston.

hey rem, do you read the posts of advice given to you, or do you just keep asking the same question?

are you looking for someone to tell you what you want to hear, or what you need to hear?

Ok, bore it out to the max, as big as you can, it will be like a rocket ship

hey hey no need for that mumbo jumbo, a bore is only to clean the cylinder from deep scars and to get it back into round. it will not give noticable power besides the power that you have gained back since new. if you bore more than needed, that is going to be less times you can use that cylinder. you get me, pete has said this many times already.

this is what you need to make it a big bore 240, no boring a stock motor is even close to 240, like this, i got a mustang with a 302 bored .060 over. that is only a 311 ci v8. not much of a change

You calculate cc's by using the bore and stroke. Stock bore is only 66 and stroke of 56. Boring it out
0.080 is hardly changing a thing.

A real to 240, is using a 72mm piston. If you were to bore out your cylinder that much, you wouldn't have anything left.
