Default i am having fuel problems, I think

My family and I just moved from Oklahoma City to Geargia. The Raptor ran good for a few weeks then it started dying on me. I try to start but smell alot of fuel. I backed off the gas input for a temp fix but problem persists. I am thinking it might need a new jet for this altitude but I am lost. It is also backfiring during this process. Any help will be thankful!

Check your carb boots, it sounds like you may have a carb partially out of it's rubber boot. All it takes is one backfire to knock a carb loose. If it's a little loose, it might run but it will run like crap after part throttle. If it's a lot loose, or out of the boot, it won't start.

If not the carb boots, your floats may be set too high. Is there any gas on the carb overflow tubes?

I've heard that climate changes may be bad for your jets.

It wont harm the jets at all, but the change in altitude and air density often requires an adjustment in the fuel supply to compensate.

By dying what do you mean? Mine died on me and had a terrible time starting. All I did was adjust my intake valves and it solved the problem like magic.

And give what maddog said a try also.

Try a platinum spark plug also. They are less likely to foul.

If you have your jetting anything close to right you shouldnt be fouling anyway. Especially on a fourstroke.
