Raptor crankcase help??
#1
i was riding some local trails the other day and i hit a rock and it threw the chain of the rear sprocket and then it doubled itself up arond the front sprocket.
in the process it broke the upper mont for the casesaver off of the crankcase. i took off the casesaver and and epoxied the piece on. it was not good epoxy cause i rode the next day without a casesaver and i completely lost the piece. what is the best quick fix for this. i thought about epoxy(-ing??) some nuts onto the crankcase there or maybe even having them tig welded on. what is the crankcase made of?. i just hate hacking it together like that
where could i find another crankcase and for how much???
i plan on boring/stroking it after this winter so i will have to have the case split to replace rod and it should kinda easy to replace the crankcase that was broken shouldn't it?
any ideas? id rather not have to replace the case so i need help bad!
all help will be appreciated greatly

Hey guys.. the same exact thing happened to me. well.. a new case would run you about 180- at your dealer.. i ride without a case saver no problem. I could epoxy the piece back on if i want to but i dont really want to cause it wouldn't help to me. it actually reduces weight lol. I think your rappy will run fine... for future refrence you should switch from epoxy to JB weld or somthing like that. JB weld is a lot stronger then epoxy and it will hold on to aluminum very good. JB weld is mixed just like epoxy too so its the same abount of time you will be spending. if you really want the case saver back on... you can JB weld a little peice of steel with a hole in it and just run the bolt holding the case saver on lightly!!... with a nut. dont torke the bolt or the steel will fall off. ...... or save time and dont worry... sorry for the spelling mistakes!!

Riding without a case saver on a raptor is just asking for an expensive repair job. You can probably get away with it for a little while, especially on a mostly stock machine. But you will need to address the issue before you do any major power mods to it.
