the best, and cheepest theft stopper out right now is not a gun,( though i love mine) or a lock, chain, trailor. it is a simple small ear peircing alarm system. it is a box that is 2x4 inchs in size. it gives off a ear peircing squeel if moved, or played with. if you place it on the bottom of your frame with valcro, or hide it anywhere you can on a quad, and someone moves it, you'll hear it a block away. it wont go off in the wind, but roll a quad, sit on one, or even lean against it with any force, and it will squeel like a virgin. you can buy them at home depow, or most hardware stores. they are made to put on your windows/doors at home while your sleeping. if a thief grabs your quad, it WILL go off, and most thiefs dont want that kind of attention, so they will bold. this is great for trips, where you leave your quad to sleep, and it sits in the parking lot. you can install them to a trailor also.
they cost about $30.00 each, and worth every penny.
just a sudjestion
Although these work great, they don't work good in windy weather as the wind will set off the motion alarm...

i have state farm and they wont cover my raptor because it is a "high performance bike"
lame or what i think they dont want to cover it because it has already been stolen

what i dont understand is why people steal quads in the first place. i mean there not really that expensive where you should risk doing time in jail gettin pumped by bubba everynight and then payin a fine about 3 or 4 times more then a quad.....

BigDylan, I've got both my quads insured with Farm Bureau. Each of them has an individual, auto-type policy similar to my Harley. Fire, theft, medical, comprehensive AND collision. Yes, I asked, and they say even if I centerpunch a tree or roll it down a long steep hill they'll pay (if I live to file the claim ). The rates are reasonable for coverage provided .

My Shelter Insurance Homeowners policy covers my quads, as long as they're damaged/stolen from my property.

You boys that are bragging about your guns do realize that if you shoot and/or kill someone for stealing you will go to jail for life, right? If you don't kill them, you will go to jail AND get sued. Let's use some sense. I do carry a S&W .357 with me (licensed to carry) but it is for PERSONAL DEFENSE. You will not know that I have it, but if you see it, you are dead. That is the ONLY time anyone should know about your gun.

Also, insurance is great, except for the depreciation factor...

I like the idea of the signs!! I think that's a great deterant!
