I am currently a honda 400ex owner and am thinking about a 450 quad. Is the YFZ reliability on par with Honda'TRX? I have always had Honda, but if I can get reverse and electric start, why not......

I recently purchased a new YFZ 450 and they do not have reverse. I was a bit dissapointed in this, but that only lasted for a few minutes and I didn't think about it again after I rode it! It does have electric start though which is very nice. The Yamaha and Honda are both great machines though. Now I just have to throw on a pipe to wake-em up.

I think that they are about the same except the yamaha people are a little slow with help.

 

the honda has had less problems.

 

but arent the 450r's cracking the swing arms???

 

And braking the frames.

 

And blowing motors in races? Ask Tim Farr.

 

Ive seen a piston on a YFZ split almost in half . Talk from piston people is they loose oil in the top of the wristpin piston edge and galding accures .
Ive only seen the one and it only had slight drag mark . Hopefully it was a fluke

 

Hey Dragster, what can be done to fix this? Did this occur from the decomp plug coming out?

 

the 450r's frames are breaking to.....damn thats bad
