How many are running the YFZ 508 stroker?
>>By the way very nice website!
Thanks. It was a lot of hard work.
>>And I love what Falicon has done for the raptors . Hope to see more .
They just did a 105 bore x 92 stroke 797cc for a pro racer. The same crank with a 102 bore will give you a 752cc, and might become a kit, if there's enough demand.
>>Ar they selling many kits?
The 752cc piston/crank are available, just not as a kit.
>> heard any negatives?
Yes. They cost money. <grin>

You can NOT bore the stock cylinder past a 99mm which is the 480, and I am not aware of an aftermarket cylinder besides Tumic but they stoped making those cylinders for some reason?!?

If you get 470 + stroking, will be around 500cc. I heard they have 530cc bore now, I think its 101 piston bored.

Did you go to Sand Sport Supershow, I heard their was an YFZ their with a 530cc, thats where I got my info. Heres the pic of the bike people have been saying
YFZ PIC , YFZ PIC 2 . I know tumic stopped, but could you go to 102mm , or is the timing chain going to get in the way and what about the crankcase so many variables. Just say we had a aftermarket cylinder setup for 102mm pistom and it got stroked to 68mm like they are already doing for the yzf, and now we have a 555cc yfz.

As far as the YFZ being able to go past a 99mm bore on a stock cylinder I have been told by many a person that it is not possible, I am not positive why but my guess would be because the cylinder walls are already paper thin with a 99mm bore. The biggest YFZ that I have heard of is a 523cc

There is no 508 kit. You build a 508 buy using a Falicon crank and a 99mm piston. Falicon has a 488 kit that uses a 97mm piston. MaxPower has a 99mm bore kit for 480cc . Put the two together for a 508cc.
I'm sure MaxPower thinks Big Bore kits are the right way to go, and Falicon thinks a stroker/big bore kit is the right way to go. Read long (too long) message above for more thoughts.
I think you should buy both, do all the tests and let us all know....<grin>.

If a cylinder wall is really thick from the factory, it's not a problem. But if it's real thin, you have to sleeve it. You can get iron sleeves that press in place, but you get more power if you use aluminum. Since Iron expands differently from aluminum (coeffecient of thermal expansion), you can't get it to seal as tight as an aluminum sleeve. The best option is (in my opinion), is to use a forged aluminum sleeve and weld it into place to prevent it from moving and get the best thermal transfer. That means you have to machine the cylinder after you weld it in, then coat the cylinder walls with nickel - silicon carbide. That's a whole bunch of work, and that's why most folks use iron sleeves. I've heard good words about Max Power's boring/coating and Rick Peterson's work on small engines. And I know our guys do good work.

But Maxpower pistons are only sing ring, cp pistons are triple, daddogs have the 480 maxpower and have to change out their pistons every couple months. I would like to see the 470 vs 480. And whats up with the spacer problem on the stroker falicon, they have been saying you need to run a spacer but some people havent.
You can get CP470 piston for $200, Big Bore Gasket Kits $43, and sending your cylinder to get Bore and Re-Plated. Would cost around $500 if yuo did it yourself. Check out http://www.velocityracingatv.com/ for CP pistons and other cool stuff lol.
