A 6th gear would be nice. I've had my Big Bear 4x4 for about a year now and that's the only negative I can say. But hey, its a work horse, not a top end screamer. When the stock Maxxis tires wear out, I'll probably get a set of Bear Claws or Vampires.

My Big Bear has more than enough power for everything I've done and some to spare.

It just hasn't hauled that 10 pointer out of the woods yet. This year it will!!!

I love my 2000 Big Bear. I bought it for my hunting lease, but I've had more fun on it than I thought would be legal. It's a great machine in the mud (especially with the Mud Bugs) and it has all the power I need. I'm not a racer so I wasn't looking for top speed, though my GPS puts it in the 40-45mph range. I would strongly recommend bumping up to the 4X4. For any real mud situation, there's no comparison with a 4X2. It's all about traction. Ground clearance is important, too, and the Big Bear has plenty. I highly recommend this ride.

And the mud flap complaint is valid. Mine are still OK, but a buddy has an identical quad with 26" Outlaws and he's about to replace both mud flaps. If you go to larger tires, DEFINATELY trim the mud flaps to keep them from catching the tread.
