Default performance mods for the blaster

hello evereyone. i just picked up a 05 blaster and have a few questions for ya. i want to gain some more power in the low end. i don't race or compete. just ride trails and sand.
i noticed that my blaster will bog down in the sand and i have to change gears. what kind of mods can i do to help me out.
BTW this is my 1st ATV so if your saying i should have got something more powerful then the blaster the reason i didn't was cause i wanted to learn on something without breaking bones.
i see a lot of people change exhausts. is it really worth the money? or how about switching to a K&N filter?
help me out. thanks.

The first thing to get is an aftermarket air filter and maybe some reeds. Aftermarket pipes make a big difference. If you want low end power then the Trenga/LRD pipe kit is a good choice. Procircuit also gives you a lot more low end. It is usually better to buy a pipe kit rather than just the pipe and silencer because in the pipe kit you get perfect jetting for that pipe setup, all the hardware you need, and sometimes the pipe kits come with an aftermarket air filter.

The Toomey B1 pipe kit is a great kit but it adds midrange and top end power and doesnt really give you anymore low end power which you said you wanted

Exchaust pipe not worth the money. If you want to wake up the blaster port and polish the motor. If you don't want to do that then try- better air filter, reeds, change gearing, 18 " tires in the back. Pipes are ok but it's not going to give you what your looking for.

Not true. Changing out the pipe is usually the best mod to do first. You can port all you want but your still going to be held back by the exhaust flow. Adding a higher flow air filter won't do anything unless you have the exhaust flow to go with it.

Pipe it and have the head milled to get more compression.

I have an FMF pipe on my blaster and it is awsome. I think the Toomey is better and prolly the LRD also, but i like my FMF. Also i put a wiseco piston in it and bored the cylinder 0.20 and i noticed a difference there as well. I heard that Boyesen reed are also real good for low end. Also you can port and polish that puppy, theres a lot you can do to blasters. If you want to get the thing real fast......just drop a 240 in that sucker....lol
