Can someone give me a reason why a straight shifter would be better than the stock linkage shifter on a raptor. I ask because the boots I just bought make shifting a pain in the rear with the stock shifter. Also any recommendation on a manufacture of a good SS would be nice. Thanks

I have an IMS direct shifter and love it. It took a while to get used to but now I dont miss a shift and its a lot smoother than the stock linkage shifter.

 

I love my Roll Design direct shifter... Its sweet.. Easy to find neutral and good positive shifts thru all gears!

 

I extended my Stock shifter 2 inches I wear size 13 boots so I couldnt hardly shift at all . Now I love it . Look in my pictures

 

what does the linkage do whats it purpose?

 

Just a engineers idea of an extension from the tranny to the shifter.
