Default Exhaust for Grizz'

I know that this has probably been asked lots of times before, but I am needing some help. I am looking at replacing the stock slip-on with a different one. The two that I have looked at the most is the HMF and the Big Gun. If anyone has any further suggestions please reply. Also After I do add one on, I will be getting the K&N power kit with rejetting and air filter.

I have a mbrp power tech 4 and I like the power gains and the sound. It is supposed to be quiet, but it got louder when I moded the airbox.

Does your MBRP discolor any at all after it had been on for a while? And also does anyone know if on the HMF colored sleeves it they stand up to the heat and resist scratching really good?

We put the HMF with quiet core on our grizz. Also has:
 • K&N w/ pro flow adaptor
 • EHS Racing Lid
 • DynoJet Kit
 • 25" Blackwaters

High Comp piston and cam are soon to come...

Thing runs like a beast. From our experience on sport bikes, HMF makes major gains over Big Gun. As for my $0.02, there a few better pipes out there (MBRP is one of the best), but for the money invested, HMF is your best bang for the buck. A slip on will set you back $230.

Happy Riding

It did discolor but they say that it will polish right off. Infact I think that it turned color to match the clay that got on it all the time. I will probably polish it someday but it doesn't really matter.

A little discoloring is no problem as long as it will shine up good with some polish. I alsways wash mine off after a ride anyways.

About how much did the mbrp set you back. I have checked on prices on the HMF and I have seen it range from $209 to $230 and even up to $285. I hadn't checked on prices on anything else. Still shopping around.

o4grizz04, I have a 02grizz with a jet, hmf,and cdi.The hmf improved the low end a lot.I'm thinking about going with the header sometimes next year..I have not had any complaints about the pipe.As far as scrathes and disscoloring,it is fine as long as you clean it and don't let mud set too long. But the sticker is coming off a little, thats my fault for using a pressure washer. The sound is lovely,it has a good thick sound in the woods, to let everyone know you are present(so what it's loud)More people have ask me what kind of pipe that is because it sounds good coming from a griz.

I AM ALSO WANTING THAT SOUND AS WELL. HMF IS PROBABLY WHAT I AM GETTING UNLESS SOMETHING GETS MY ATTENTION WHILE SURFING THE WEB FOR THEM OR IF SOMEONE COULD TELL ME OF WHEN BETTER FOR THE SAME PRICERANGE. I WORK WITH A GUY THAT HAS A HMF ON HIS 650 PRARIE AND HE REJETTED ALSO WITH A BETTER AIR FILTER AND IT IMPROVED HIS LOW-END ALOT SO I AM PRETTY MUCH BOUGHT ON THE HMF.
