Two strokes have a little more acceloration. Two strokes are light and have alot more power up accessories. Four strokes are heavier but a litttle easier to ride.

2 stokes have a ton more wheel spin, because they run at a much higer RPM range.
4stokes have a lot more torque and better hook up, they run in the power range in lower RPM's.

as far as reliability, of course a 4 is going to be better off, but new 2 strokes arent that bad in my opinion.
and for easy-to-ride the 4 stoke has it a lil because its not as snappy, and it has much smoother power.

i prefer the snap of a 2 stroke for a dirt bike myself

hope this helped

well with the new YZ 250F you get 2 stroke characteristics with 4 stroke reliability and power

there has been track testing and racing with 4/2 stroke bikes, and the 450 four strokes always seem to come out on top.........imo 2 stroke dirtbikes are a joke and will not last long at all, ive had bad experience with a few before and i wont be buying another one again, no offense to anyone owning a 2stroke bike but thats just my experience with them!

yea that bike is awesome, tons of power. Generally two strokes have faster acceleration than four stokes but are slightly harder to ride and a little more maintenance in my experience.

2 strokes are not a joke. I have never had a bad experience with a 2 stroke. They are alot cheaper and easier to fix, and they can last just as long as a 4 stroke.

i like the 2 strokes, because they are a little harder to ride. but they have one big advantage over the 4 strokes that i have noticed at the mx races. that is if you go down on the 2 strokes you can usually start them up in a couple of kicks. but the 4 strokes usually take a while to get started back up, even with the hot starts.
