well i was having a problem with my 4x4 system yesterday. it would make a clunking noise when i took it out of 4x4. it quit doing it later in the evening. i called the dealer and i told them i didnt use the 4x4 much. they said that might been the problem. it may have been sticking where i dont use it much. he said i need to use it every so often.
