i raced a 450r today . 2001 raptor 660.mine has a 160/165 w/ 25 jets and the gyt-r needles. the proflow airbox billet things. the k&N air filter and no lid. his 2005 450r honda witha hop up kit. cam, jets, exhaust and air box mods. we raced 3 times. got me off the line evry time and then we stayed the same distance apart. if i could get a btter start i couls have taken him. he rode mine and i rode his and i notcied those things have no low end. he noticed that mine has all kinds of low end

the stock 450r is geared real high. my friends with stock gearing in first gear was faster than my blaster in second. if he goes down one tooth in the front he will notice alot more low end but top speed is noticibly decreased

The same reason a banshee is fast of the line. (when it gets traction) You gotta know how to get the revs up and how to slip the clutch. Low end is only needed for pulling $hit. Not needed to go fast thats all top end ( if your a good driver)

mine has lowend. its totally stock. the thing that blows the lowend for the R is the gearing. the engine has torque its just that the gearing isnt matched to it.
id love to yank this tranmission out and put a 6 speed from an older R in it! it would be a much better machine.

Those things have no low end compared to my raptor. He has a 1 smaller tooth on front than stock. So his is geared down. I think the cam in it might have made it that way. It feels like you are riding a two stroke. Like I said . If I couls stop doing a wheelie I could beat him most likely.
