ANOTHER PISTON FAILURE !
Tear it down look under the piston there is more than likely discoloration from compresion passing thru .
aftermarket piston manufactures Ive talked to have been seeing it happen . Ive only seen one .
and it was on a machine with NO2 thought it was the NO2 but have been told it is happening to others .
Same symptoms . compression drop does it smoke at all? look for blow by .

your leakdown might have held because the piston was sealed but under rotation the deflection angle causes the crack to open and compression drops

guys i had the motor apart already... piston was fine...
its none of those 250a1 but thanks.
raptorowner... my buddies had 150.
wistech.. clearances are good, if the spring was broke wouldnt the valve fall out? dont matter either way... those are fine. seats are good... leakdown test would have told me otherwise and i put parts cleaner in the ports and none came through the head.
it would be great to get other readings on some yfz compression...

Ok, then the only other thing I can think of is your timing. Did you do a cam mod to this? Check your timing marks and the cam or crank sending unit to see if they have been bumped or moved.

ur very warm...
i was just told this on the central...


"Yes sir, after the cam mod I was just under 90 psi. Stock cam timing was 140 psi. Your motor is still good"


i dont get it... it still didnt have any ***** up in the higher RPMS... imma check this out tomorrow... or 2nite... its gonna bother me all night... because this is the stupidest thing if this is it...


the dealer told me that it wouldnt effect it... so i just went with what they said... i didnt think it would either.

Hozed, why not try to go back to stock?? And then if it becomes "all of a sudden fine" then put on your aftermarket parts one at a time and eliminate the problem(all while doing the compression check).....I would start with putting the stock cams back in......

cams are stock... and i cant go back cause i dunno where all that stuff is... lol
i just talked to ernie... he gave me a few ideas to try... and they all make sense... all i hafta say is that if its a combination of what he says and what i heard of central imma be pissed at my dealer... they convinced me it had to be the rings to begin with... stupid f.ucks

Hozed, I just got done talking to Ernie too...... I would try what he says.....that man is very smart, and very helpful too.....he has been going out of his way to help me on the pred......what a guy!!!!



Hope you get it fixed hozed.....otherwise, you are pretty much laughing stock for me and BBS.......

well... 130 lbs with stock timing and fresh non-seated rings.
my dealer is going to get an ear full... sorry i brought you guys into this.
for the record... yes... i feel stupid.
