Well i got my engine back from yoshimura and its a BEAST. Lots of torque..... took it out today and i drag raced my buddys yfz-450 about 15 times, (probably not good for braking engine in) His 450 has a GYTR exhaust, jetted, and open airbox with the K&n setup. My yoshi would pull harder in every gear. Before we even raced we test drove each others quad and my just felt more powerfull from the down low to up high. ITS SWEET. I would beat him every time unless i would mess up shifting because i would miss second alot.( The shifter was to high). Its not even broken in yet so i am sure my yoshi will just keep getting faster. Right now it has about 3 hours on it.

 

Sounds nice. What cams, carb and compression are you running? How much money do you have in the setup? Be careful. You are pretty well maxed out and I'm sure you just lit a fire under his but. CDI, Cams and jetting will make the YFZ improve a LOT.

 

Well my modds are listed above. Yes, it lit a fire under his *** real nice, he was a little bit salty after we raced.

 

My suggestion for your friend is send his YFZ engine to yoshi [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

Why, i dont even think yoshi does big bores for the yfz-450.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] what does it matter i am at a 450 now. Same as him.

 

If you don't mind, I would be interested in knowing what all you had done and the cost. It's cool if you don't feel like posting this info, I understand.

Do you come to the YAMAHA forum to post just to throw it in people's faces? Since your here though;Which bike has the most money in it? The Z or the YFZ? I'm betting on the Z (Only because I have a YOSH motor and know what it costs).I also know what it takes to make the Z handle as well as the YFZ, and that ain't cheap either.I'd say that the best bang for the buck contest is really lop-sided in favor of the YFZ(In the racing arena)............As far as your new engine goes,I'm glad for you and hope you have a blast with it but, I don't think you should try to irritate the YFZ guys with it. You never know;You may end up with a YFZ one day and need these guys to help you............................
