hard starting blaster
#11
if it sits all winter then make it easy on your self get a freind to come over on another atv get you a good rope tie it up to his and to yours an put yours in 3rd gear pull in the clutch let him get to going like maybe second gear an let out on the clutch
Pulling a hard to start quad can do a bunch of damage. If it does not start with the kick starter...there is another problem with the machine. Especially a blaster which can be basically turned over by hand.

It just scares me is all......You are using the weight of the machine to turn something over that might not want to be turned over. If you get what I mean...
I guess the point of my post was that the kick starter is more than capable of turning the motor over fast enough to start...if the kick start does not work...I would look into other areas as the cause.. Maybe bad jetting or a burnt plug...etc.
Say you have a badly fouled plug...the kick start will not create a strong enough spark to get through all that carbon on the plug. So you pull the wheeler at a pretty quick rate and force the plug to start firing. It will eventually start and possibly clean off that plug. But at the same time you are sucking fuel into a cylinder that is just not ready to fire. You can risk odd rates of combustion/backfiring/etc. that is bad for the life of the piston or any internal engine parts.
Either way...it's just my opinion.
