You dont have to pull the motor to get the head off. Just take off the front fender and gas tank. You can pull the head and get to the piston without taking the engine off the frame.

You can change the cam without taking the head off. It just slides in behind the breather case. Mickey's shop is in Hyndman Pa., a long way from Kentucky. To put the piston in, you will have to take the cyilnder off, that means that you will probably need new dowel pins and gaskets. Other than that, its really now a hard operation. Dont do the porting yourself though, you will mess it up, its best to have it sent away and dont the right way. If you have any other questions let me know.

Drac1 - The mods dont sound bad. It will boost you up pretty good. There is nothing wrong taking it out and then taking it to the mechanic, you wont mess anything up by doing that. Mickey's number is (814) 842-6159 Call him Mon-Fri 4-7pm eastcoast times. He will be able to tell you just about anything about it. He also sells the manual clutch conv.
