Just wondering how many of you own or have owned a 2001 raptor and experienced (or didnt) tranny problems. Just trying to get an idea of what percentage of these tranny's actually go and weather or not i want to play the odds.

I have an 01', ride it rather hard a few times a month and haven't had a single mechanical problem. It's been a great bike, and with the exception of losing an upper a-arm on a big step down (a-arm bolt threads actually sheared off) haven't had a problem. I do, however, expect my one way bearing to go soon as it is making a great deal of noise and getting worse. Tranny has held up well, probably because I never power shift and change the oil frequently. Good luck with your search, I really enjoy my Raptor.

This should make you feel a little better about buying an 01'. If I didn't come up on such a good deal on my Pred, I'd probably still have mine.

FlynBryan,
I saw in one of your pictures (the raptor) that you have a trail tech lighting kit. Or at least thats what they appear to be. I bought a set for my raptor and the things literally vibrated to peices (on the inside) blew the bulbs and all the wires attaching and the wire harness in about 3 or 4 uses. Have you had any problems with this?

I have to admit to my "ghettoness" here.......Those were actually fog lights from walmart. LOL The fool that had the quad before me took the lights off and didn't have them when I bought it.

But I have seen ALOT of posts on here about that happening to the trail tech lights. I don't think anyone has come up w/ a solution yet. I would recommend staying away from them in the future.

My 01 tranny is still in tact.

Blue Blood is power shifting full throttle shifts? Not backing off the throttle when you shift?
