Default Found a Nice Raptor need some help

I've been looking in the local traders and whatnot and I've seemed to have found a promising Raptor. It's a 02 blue and white. Has an extended swingarm, and nerf bars. Also still has the stock parts. No motor mods. The guy told me he only rode it for one season on the weekends and really hasn't ridden it since. He's willing to part with it for $3500.

It sounds like a really good deal to me. Is there anything I should look for on the bike? Said it runs great and has been garage kept. I'd like to know exactly what to look for before I drive 2 hours to take a look at it. Thanks!

I would be looking at everything, cracked frame, bent axle, any signs of outer stuff being broken/cracked

then start it up and listen/ let it warm up/ how does it idle and respond to the throttle

look at engine for oil leaks/bad gaskets

take for test ride/ shift gears/ listen/smell

ask questions

That probably is about right because my dads sells atvs and a yfz with everything on it even nitrous costed the guy $15,000 and one year later in mint condition its worth about $7,500.

The guy is in the US. lol. I just got off the phone with him. Reason he extended the swingarm was he used to drag race it a little. The bike is completely stock motorwise, and has been taken to Yamaha for servicing. He said it's been ridden maybe 3 times in the past year. It just sits in his garage. Said there's no leaks or anything. Everything sounds good. I should have it this week!

I'll make sure to check everything out in person. He was asking more then $3500. That's just what we agreed upon.

Nobody puts a extended swing arm on a stock quad. He's drag raced it yes, more than he's telling you imo. Probably took off the aftermarket stuff and put it back to stock and left the swing arm on it. Doesn't mean it will be a bad deal. As long as it's not beat up and leaking oil everywhere then it should be fine.
