We have a zilla in our area that is faster than a 686 on nitrous, a yfz 470, a couple of 310 and 330 pv R's and many built banshees. It is of course slower than the drag banshees, but its not a drag quad. It's main competition on the hill drags has been a crf 450, but the zilla is typically quicker. This zilla is setup for flattrack and has been the reigning AMA district ice champion for about 3 years. It tears it up on big tracks but the yfz and crf (when its not on nitrous) have an edge on it on these tracks, especially the short ones.

Another zilla is setup for drags w/ drag pipes and swingarm but is consitently running very low 5's on the sand drag. Our track is slow from what I hear, but that zilla is not all that impressive. Which is understandable seeing as how the same guys focus on thier custom built drag machine with a triple cylinder polaris and a big bottle of nitrous.

They are out there, but very few in numbers and most are fast but not all that impressive when competing against other purpose built machines.

I agree Mark, but when does the point come where you can honestly say "It's still just Raptor" or "It's still just a Banshee",etc. IMO the fast bikes are the ones can be ridden all day then line up and do some good running too. It's all in what you want I guess. My wife's R and my Banshee run respectable times, but are at the point where driveability is going to give to go any faster.

I agree with bubba, I think if you want to call it a raptor, shee, r, or whatever it should be ridable. IMO Now I am not saying the fast a$$ bikes some of you have are not cool, but they are in another league of there own than factory quads. And really it is to hard to compare this bike to this bike, because of so many different mods out there.

Now if you want to just talk about your bike in particular runs this time vs. this time no matter what breed it is, that is fine, but saying a raptor beat a zilla or what ever is really irrelevant due to mods.

yup bubba, got to love them honda's. My honda 370 went 2 years on the same piston and bore before i took it down just befoe last memorial day to put a piston in it. Bore was still fine. Bike ran consistant 4.6's in the 100 and did a 4.57 one time.

Most guys that build these quads could care less how long the top end last. Half the fun is tearing down a perfectly good running quad. I guess it is stress relief. There are a lot of guys on here with deep pockets. I wish i was one of them. I can not see spending 7500 dollars on a single cyclinder motor myself, but do enjoy looking and watching the guys that do. Dollarbills has a bling bling CR740 with the HP to match and is not afraid to drop the hammer on it.

Money gets to be a big issue with me after a while. But if I had it, I would definatley have to have a strictly drag wuad in my stable. In the meen time, like you I enjoy watching others blow there bills.

that 4.5 370 on gas has 3k into it from top to bottom, pipe to carb. Not sure if that was directed towards me or not, but i would rather keep my motors together then tearing them apart waiting for something to break.

Ive never spent 7500 on a single cylinder, but ive spent 4500 on one that any 4-stroke will have a hard timing keeping up with.
