does mounting the 39s require any modifications in order to fit? What boots are used from the carbs to the head? What intakes are working the best?

hmmm... Is there a difference from 35mm carbs? I got them to fit in the stock boots.

 

my 39mm carbs would almost fit over the stock boots...lol (depends on how big the spigot is on the 39's) poweroll uses spigots that will fit in the stock boots but that kind of defeats the purpose. Bob Craycraft has a very sweet setup

 

are there any clearance issues with the 39s (exhaust headers, gas tank, frame, etc.,...)

 

no pretty much the same stature of the 35's, but the manifold that bob makes takes the clearance issue away (both 35's and 39's will have that problem with stock boots)

 

trying to flow the 39's is what you want to do, now putting boots that are smaller defeat the purpose of the bigger carbs.....

Craycraft relizez that and made a intake..
