How to shift the yfz

I tried to ride my friends yfz 450 and couldn't get it right. is it just down 1,2,3,4,5 to shift up and up 5,4,3,2,1 or is there a pattarn or somehting? and don't give me bull sh*t that i don't know how to shift and stuff. thanks

The shift patter on the YFZ is just like almost every other bike out there. 1 down, 4 up.

When you start, press down one click. You are now in first. Then after that when you are ready to shift again, you lift up on the shifter and continue to do so until you are in fifth gear. Simple as that.

Remember Neutral is a 1/2 click between first and 2nd not a full notch. If your in 1st and you want Neutral lift up about 1/2 the distace that is normally required to get into 2nd gear.
