Where's the stator on a Warrior??
#1
Hey,
I have a 98 Warrior with no spark. I've been reading previous posts and the stator seems to be a common problem. I'm not sure where it is. I'm going to swap out working parts from another bike to check them. Thanks!

The stator is on the same side of the bike as the shift lever. you'll notice a bunch of wires coming out of the top of the left side engine casing. These wires are coming from the stator.

It's not a real big deal to replace the stator. As far as the thing under your headlight assembly,,,i dont really know what you are talking about. Check out this site. It breaks down every part on your bike. It should help in identifying parts , and show ya the sequence in replacing your stator.

I would suggest sending your stator to rickystator.com and have them rewind it. It is a lot cheaper then buying a oem stator. I had mine rewound with more electrical output (mojave) and it cost me like $100 or so, a few years ago. Go to their site and send them an email. The've always been good at answering any questions I had Good Luck

Are you talking about the Ignition Coil Assymbly mounted to the frame? That's where mine is located on my '03 so I'm assuming it's the same thing. Does it have small wires leading to it and the spark plug wire leading away from it? It' jumps the 12V DC up to whatever the voltage required to make the spark jump the gap in the spark plug. 12VDC just doesn't make a nice big strong spark over that distance.
