Default low or high gear

I have a 2004 kodiak and it has a low and a high forward gear which is best for mud and for hill climbing

honestly you proabably will be fine in high all around, if you run into problems on a hill hit the 4x4 button, you loose a ton of speed youll want hillclimbin, mudding all depends, putting it in low usually isnt necessary for small mudholes in trails, unless your crossin a deep river or mud bogging.
