VERY VERY important to make sure your filter is always clean and oiled properly. You can get filter oil from the dealer, order from catalog or online, even autozone has filter oil. I like to use oil in a aerosol can, easier to apply ang not as messy.

I heard not to use the K&N oil for foam though. I did not see any other at AutoZone.

Prodesign foam filters say NOT use the aerosol spray oil. They recommend Bel Ray, etc. I assume this applies to uni since uni makes prodesign foam filters.

UNI makes spray oil to though, and Ive never seen any dust get through my filter using the spray kind. But I clean mine often as well.

Then maybe there is a difference between uni and prodesign foam? I don't think its a matter of which oil works. The spray oil would stop dirt just as well as the non-spray, but the guy at prodesign said the aerosol carrier thats in the spray will eventually breakdown the adhesives that hold the foam together. Maybe he was yankin my chain....

I heard the same thing west. I just use the uni oil and get it in real good. The best way to oil a filter, IMO is to keep dumping it on and rubbing it in until you can squeeze excess oil out. When you get to that point you squeeze everything you can out, then slap her on.

LOL, I hope you guys are wrong or my engine might be a bit dirty. But I think as long as it is sticky all over it will catch dust. Maybe not as long, but I clean mine often.
