You can turn the engine over to pump the oil without starting it. I havnt run my quad in about 4 months or so, and i just changed the oil. The engine turned over about 10 times without starting so i just checked the oil level and added more oil. If you wanted to just turn the engine over and not start i guess you could pull out the wire that goes to the plug and turn it over a few times. I would recommend starting it when you are finished with the oil change if you did it this way.
