I'm trying to gather some more info, before I call FST regarding the 446.

SpDdEmOn or anyone else who has who has done their own work for the 446, except for the machine work Mickey does:

What "special" tools were required. I was looking in my shop manual and the tool to split the case (and I assume this removes the crank) and the tool for reinstalling the crank look kinda crucial. SpDd, I know you said in a previous post that reinstalling the crank was kinda tricky.

What about any other tools that you wouldn't normally find in the Home mechanics toolbox?

I thought the thing to do was just remove your engine and send the whole thing to him.?

UGLY88, that may be the case...I'm not sure.

I would guess that if FST only has to do the machine work, you could save time and $.

I'm pretty sure I've seen posts leading me to believe you can do it either way.

I'm hoping someone that has done this, could shed a little more light on it.

I do not have the 446, but some of the things that may need done besides the usual rebuild items:

Opening up the cylinder hole in the cases for the larger OD jug
Clearancing the lower end of the cases for the stroked crank
Stroking the crank
Port and polish the head (best done by someone who has the proper tools and experience on Wolverine/Warrior heads)

FST also recommends using his cam and high flow intake.

The pistons are made specificly for him by Wiseco (anyone need a nice used one?) [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Sorry for bringing up old news but I am planning on getting a 446 kit on my wolverine and I am wondering how fast it will go and will i get alot more exceleration?

I would not expect the top speed to change much at all, since the gearing is staying the same.

Now, the acceleration time to top speed, that should decrease substantially.

I've been told that after doing the FST 446 mod, including head porting / polishing and valve springs...the stock 17-18 hp should double.

I would also have to assume that would include a good slip-on pipe and proper jetting.

Just so everyone is informed....... my riding bud sent his brand new Scrammy to FST for a 600 conversion in January......got it back in September.

Now the bike is a monster......but be prepared, it might be a while.

Lotus...Did your Buddy send in the whole motor or just the pieces that needed machined?
