a go every where machine huh. well you would have to be able to put it in and take it out of 4x4 and it would also have to be sporty kind of like the wolverine but I don't think that is the atv that you are looking for.

i think a raptor 660 is pretty good for most if not all of those. I'm guessing for snow and mud you might want something with 4wd but I have a raptor 660, its really fun on the trails, confortable to ride, has plenty of power, its fast. I like it a lot.

whatever machine you're on at the time....

seriously, i own a new '05 Polaris 700 EFI, it is a great machine, but I wouldn't say it is the best. I would need one of every machine to tell the difference or like one over the other. I got the EFI because here in NM I ride from around 5000 feet all the way up to 13000 feet and don't want to have to intall a dial-a-jet like I did on my last machine....

Overall you have choices of the many machines....My friend has two Yamaha Wolverines, 350's, for the size of that motor, I'm really surprised how well it does, light, quick for the size, etc.

yah the only reason why I would not say the 700 efi is becaus it's kinof heavy. oh I just remembered what about the scrambler 4X4.

ya, the 700 EFI and all Polaris Utility machines are heavy. I use my just for hauling and hunting, although I can ride it very agressively, it isn't the machine for everyone, but it is the machine for me...

The Scrambler and the Wolverine are probably the best, the Wolverine would be my pick over the scrambler because the scrambler has a chain drive and thats not good for snow and mud. But the wolverine doesnt have a 2wd option unless you get a Warn4-2-4 select kit on it. But if you Have a 4-2-4 on a wolverine the wolverine is probable the best for all terrian.

yup, with my 27" tires, my lowest point is 12.25". With the longer travel on the front for '05, its great. Does exactly what I need. I picked it up halfway through bow season for elk. Prior to that, i was using a Yamaha Wolverine of one of my friends....I still have to say for the engine size on the Wolverine, it is a great all around quad. It can't go 65+ mph like my 700, but for all-around riding it is a great machine. We have taken it places where I never thought it would go and hauled out plenty of elk with them...
