Are there any aftermarket cdi units that make a marked difference in performance with the grizz. I have heard that they make the largest difference with the V-twin engines.

IMO, Procom = Junk. Sorry dbeck, but the sponsor just isnt delivering on a quality standpoint from what I have seen. But they really arent any worse than the other cheap replacements out there like white bros and big gun so if you have a 100 or so to toss around you might as well get one and play with it.
