Default YFZ Battery Box

I've been thinking about getting new plastics for my YFZ. I found some that I like but the battery box has bee cut out. Here is the quote from the seller:

"The battery box on the rear plastic has been cut out for the use of an aftermarket battery box."

How hard would it be to put a stock battery box from my old plastics onto the new one? Or how much does an aftermarket battery box cost on average? I would greatly appreciate any information. Thanks.

The only after market boxes I have seen are from alba and Lone Star. I don't think you want the plastics unless your getting one of those. Which might not be a bad thing.

I sent the LONESTAR battery box back to them.I'm not real keen on spending $165 on something I have to shim the battery and bend the connectors to make it work!I went with the WALSH RACECRAFT 21-gun salute battery box. This is about $200 but it is a quality piece.I talked to LONESTAR on the phone about other issues with their box(They want you to use the grommets from your existing battery strap on their new one but, the 05' grommets will fall out. Also they want you to use the pad that is underneath your battery along with theirs to get the battery up but,the 05' doesn't have a pad;It has grommets and there's no place to put them in the bottom of their box.Their box was designed for a larger battery.).They told me since it was an aftermarket piece that I should expect to have to modify things...........................I'll let you be the judge

One more thing; The aftermarket box sure makes it nice to be able to take the rear fenders off without taking out the battery.

Great. So it costs around $200, do they install it or did you? If you did, how hard is it?
