painting header pipe

Default painting header pipe

My header pipe is a bit rusted (thanks to good ole florida) but i just dumped out a bit of cash and dont have enough to buy a new header pipe, if i sanded it down and painted it with a black high heat rust olem paint will anything negative happen to my motor or something?

Thats about the cheapest way to go and no it will not hurt a thing!!

use exhaust paint for the highest temperature!!!!!!!....i forget the company who makes it but ill find out 4 ya

VHT makes a good high temp. paint.

YEP - I just painted my oil tank with this stuff.

Also, try to find someone that will ceramic coat it for you, it keeps the temp down looks like chrome.

I would send your header to http://www.performancecoatings.com/ , their coatings wil stand up to 2000 degrees.
